The Idea, Proposal or Project to be Implemented Must

• comply with Finnish law and be in line with the values and strategy of the City of Rauma
• be within the city’s jurisdiction
• benefit several people
• increase opportunities for cooperation between different parties

A Feasible Idea, Proposal or Project

• cannot be contrary to an existing plan or other existing decisions of the city.
• may be part of a larger project or may be carried out in conjunction with other entities

Participatory Budgeting

• can be used to participate and do voluntary work
• can be used to finance activities or services for a limited period of time
• cannot be used to recruit permanent staff
• cannot be used to apply for a general grant for an external body such as an organisation or a company

Other Criteria

• If the proposal is already funded in the city budget, it does not go to a vote.
• The City of Rauma will be responsible for implementing the voted proposals together with the proposers. However, preference will be given to proposals that involve cooperation between communities, businesses or residents.
• The proposals must be able to be completed by the end of 2024.
