Use of Fireworks and Firework Displays

The Rauma Police Station must be notified of a fireworks display at least 14 days before the display. Notice of a fireworks display must be made even if the display is part of another public event.

Notice of a fireworks display (suomi.fi) can be made electronically or by returning the completed form to the police license services. An appointment is required to visit the license services.

If it is not a fireworks display, the use of fireworks must be reported to the Satakunta Rescue Department at least five days before the event. Events that are not related to a public event, such as the firing of surplus rockets at a time other than the turn of the New Year, are reported to the rescue authorities.

  • The use of pyrotechnic devices at a public event must be notified to the emergency services in accordance with the chemicals and explosives legislation at least 14 days before the event. For more information, visit the website of the Partnership Network of Finnish Rescue Services.
  • If you organise a fire show at a public event, you must notify the rescue authority at least 14 days before the event. A printable notice form can be found on the Partnership Network of Finnish Rescue Services website.
