Submit at Least 30 Days Before Event

Outdoor concerts and events may cause noise that disturbs nearby residents or interferes with work. Temporary events causing particularly disturbing noise must be reported to the City of Rauma Environmental Protection. The noise notification must be submitted at least 30 days before the start of the event.

The notification is submitted to the lupapiste.fi service. To use the service, you must register and create a user account. The user’s identity is verified by means of an online banking ID or a mobile certificate.

In the event of an event causing noise or other disturbance, residents and other persons affected by the activity must be informed in advance (source, duration, nature and contact details of the person responsible for the event). The organiser of the event must pay particular attention to noise-sensitive areas such as care facilities, schools and churches. Noise must be prevented from spreading outside the event area, for example by using fixed structures or terrain. In addition, the sound level of the event must be kept at a reasonable level and loudspeakers must be directed in such a way as to avoid unnecessary noise spread.

It is advisable to contact the Environmental Inspector in advance to obtain the necessary instructions. The inspector can also be consulted on the fulfilment of the requirements.
