Street Planning

Local residents have the opportunity to participate in planning of streets and public space areas by commenting on the drafts and plans. When the street plans are pending and available for public viewing, they can be found at the city’s service point in Pyyrman and in Finnish on the Kuulutukset (announcements) web page.

It is possible to participate in planning of the street plan for the first time when the plan is to be pending. There is a two-week opportunity to leave an opinion on the plan (applies to all municipal residents).

After this, a street plan proposal is drawn up. The plan presents the street’s traffic management principles, drainage, street heights, paving material, plantings and permanent structures and equipment.

When the technical committee of the city of Rauma decides to make the street plan proposal available for public viewing, residents bordering the planning area are given the opportunity to leave a reminder regarding the plan proposal. After this, the final street plan is approved by the technical committee.
