Rauma’s Villages Advisory Board

The Village Advisory Board maintains and develops cooperation and communication between the City of Rauma and the villages. The aim is to ensure that the perspective of the villages is taken into account in decision-making, to act as an expert in matters concerning the villages and to make proposals for improving the functionality, availability and quality of public services. The City of Rauma City Council has approved the objectives of the Village Advisory Board for the council period ending in 2021.

The Advisory Board was established in 2012 and is appointed by the Rauma City Government for a two-year term. The advisory board gives villages a direct channel to influence and bring rural issues to the attention of the city, although the meetings do not have any actual decision-making power. The joint meetings also provide the city with an important perspective on the villages in order to promote their well-being and vitality.
