Carpet Washing Points in Rauma
The City of Rauma maintains six carpet washing points where you can wash your carpets safely and in an environmentally friendly way. They are open from mid-May until the end of September.
Washing carpets is part of many people’s summer chores. However, carpets should not be washed on docks, lakes, in the sea or in other bodies of water where eutrophying detergents can enter directly into the water. In places not served by a sewage system, attention should be paid to the choice of detergents and preference should be given to phosphate-free products. The choice of detergents and washing methods is part of a greener everyday life.
Carpet washing points are available at the following locations
- Tuomoniemi, Tuomoniementie
- Kaaro, Jussinkyläntie
- Uotila, Teerentarhantie
- Kortela, Niittaajantie
- Lappi, Patolampi
- Kodisjoki, seaside sauna
At the Tuomoniemi carpet washing point, some of the pools are filled with seawater. In Lappi, river water is pumped into the pools from Patolampi. In Kodisjoki, carpet washing water comes from a lake. The other washing sites use tap water.
