Early music education is a gradual process of teaching, aiming to develop a child’s creativity, musical skills and self-esteem. In early music education, children develop the ability to listen to and experience music and to express themselves through music. Positive musical experiences, skills and abilities form the basis for a good relationship with music and later musical studies.

Preparatory Instrument Instruction

Preparatory instrument instruction is mainly aimed at children starting school aged 6-8. The lessons take place in a group and include singing, singing games, physical activity, and an introduction to different instruments and rhythm instruments. Groups are filled on a first come, first served basis.

Kantele Groups

The music school has different levels of kantele groups. You can start playing the kantele from about 5 years old. You start with a 5-string kantele. As the player progresses and grows, the size of the kantele increases and the number of strings increases. The kantele is taught in a group. Kantele playing supports singing, pitch accuracy and ensemble playing. You can register for the music playschool, preparatory instrument instruction and kantele groups at rmo.eepos.fi.
