The Rauma Senior Council is organizing a free event at Poselli. The program includes useful information sessions, information points for organisations, coffee breaks and a nice get-together.

18.00–21.00 Ballroom Dance Course
Ballroom dancing is a fun and effective form of exercise that is suitable for everyone. There’s a one-off fee, so you don’t have to commit to a long course. Join when it suits you best, with no need to book in advance. You can come alone, in pairs or in a group. There is optional partner swapping and you can dance with your own partner if you wish. Themes change weekly.

9.00–11.00 Measuring Day at Paroalho Pharmacy
Kotihoito 100 will be there to take rapid samples (hemoglobin, cholesterol, sugar, etc.), Rauma’s sports services will do body composition measurements, strength and balance tests and protein intake assessment. In addition, Silmäoptikot Palmu will explain dry eye treatment and measure intraocular pressure.

13.00–16.00 Culture walk in the city center of Rauma
The culture walk will offer seniors the pleasure of culture and exercise in the city center of Rauma on Friday 11.10. The nine program points are located along a route of about 2.5 km. The route is barrier-free and can be used by wheelchair, for example.
The program includes community painting sessions, poetry, dancing and park exercise.
Maps of the walk will be distributed at the museum bench in front of the Town Hall, the statue bench in front of the Art Museum and the test bench in Kaunisjärvi Park. At the end of the tour, coffee will be served at the Parish Office Building, Kirkkokatu 2. Coffee will be available until 16.00.
There will also be a shuttle bus service from Lappi. The bus will leave from in front of Lappi Osuuspankki at 12.30 and return from Rauma at 16.00.
The event is organized by the City of Rauma’s cultural services.

15.30–19.00 Open House Day at the Karin kampus
City residents and anyone interested will have the opportunity to learn more about the activities and operators on the Karin kampus on Open House Day. The event is free of charge and there is no need to register in advance.
On the campus, the different departments will be presenting their facilities on an Open House Day. The staff of the Rauma Art Museum will also be on hand to showcase the art on display. Café Oskari is also open.

18.00 Concert: Salon music treasure
In the treasure trove of salon music, you’ll find Brahms’ Hungarian Dance and Romanian influences in both composers and pieces. Towards the end of the program, we’ll enjoy popular tunes like “Besame Mucho” and music from “Secret Garden.” The concert features Titel Iacovache-Pana (violin), Magdalena Büchert (cello), Laura Vänttinen (piano), and Mads Büchert (percussion).

19.00 Dingo musical: AUTIOTALO
The Autiotalo Musical tells the incredible story of the Dingo band and its frontman Neumann. The musical explores the 1980s rock phenomenon in Finland, when Dingo created a nationwide rock hysteria. Between 1984 and 1986, Dingo broke all previous records for record and concert sales in Finland.

10.00–14.00 Moment together – Workshops for children and grandparents
The event has non-stop workshops inspired by the Lönnström Art Museum’s contemporary art projects. You can create your own island or park and blow bubbles at the bubble painting station. Workshops are open to everyone, especially children with their grandparents.
The venue is not accessible due to three steps at the entrance. Each workshop fits about 20 kids at a time. The workshops are organized by the Lönnström Art Museum.

Two popular tango artists will perform songs made famous by Reijo Taipale. The “Reijo Taipale – Beyond the Open Sea” tour features Saija Tuupanen and Teemu Roivainen, both former tango champions and favorites on dance floors. The concert is produced by MagnumLive.

Marela is the home museum of a wealthy shipowning family. It shows the life of the family in the early 1900s. Marela was owned by the Granlund family from the 1870s to 1906. There are also temporary exhibitions. The building has been a museum since 1982.

12.00 Opening ceremony of Nasulampi accessible campfire site
An accessible campfire site on the accessible part of the barn trail, funded by Rauma’s participatory budgeting, has been completed. Thanks to the renovation, wheelchair users can now also enjoy a picnic and cook sausages at the campfire site.
The opening of the campfire site will take place on 18 October 12.00-14.00. The program will include a nature trail walk, coffee and sausage baking provided by Rauma Latu and the City of Rauma. Representatives of Rauma Latu and Rauma Invalids will perform the ceremonial opening of the site.
A shuttle service will also be provided, for which you can register with Tanja Hakule of the Satakunta Welfare Region’s services for the elderly at 0444036332 by 15 October.
The event is organised in cooperation between the City of Rauma, Rauma Ladu and the Satakunta Wellbeing Region.
The meeting will take place at 12.00 at the starting point of the snowmobile trail Metsätähdentie 1.
