The Independence Day celebrations in Rauma
Celebrations on Finland’s Independence Day 6.12. will be held in the Rauma centre, Kodisjoki and Lappi.
Independence Day events
Scouts raise the flag at 9.00 in front of Poselli (Nortamonkatu 12)
Service in the Church of the Holy Cross in Rauma at 10.00, followed by the laying of wreaths on the war graves in Rauma’s old cemetery at 11.30.
Service in Kodisjoki church at 10.00, followed by the laying of wreaths on the war graves and a celebration at Kodistuva (Kodisjoentie 1453 A).
Service in Lappi church at 10.00, followed by the laying of wreaths on the war graves and a ceremony at Lappi parish house (Hiedastentie 6).
Independence Day celebration in Rauma-sali
The City of Rauma’s Independence Day celebration, open to all Rauma residents and residents of the surrounding area, will be held in Rauma-sali (Satamakatu 26) from 13:00. The event will be preceded by a free coffee service starting at 12.00.
The welcoming speech will be given by Lauri Raisto, Chairman of the Rauma Youth Council, and the keynote speech by Councillor Stig Gustavson.
The event will feature performances by Rauman Soittokunta, the Alyssa and Oxalia groups of Rauman Naisvoimistelijat and Ella Huhtakallio, Siiri Lehto and Fanni Grönlund.
