The Euro Floorball Tour tournament for men and U19 men will be held in Turku and Rauma on 18-20 October. Most of the games will be played at the Kivikylän Areena in Rauma. One match will also be played at the newly built Kari Campus.
– The four-nation tournament is the first of its kind in Rauma and an exciting opening for top-level sport in the city. This is a great opportunity for us to show what Rauma can afford. We look forward to welcoming the international volleyball world to Rauma,” says Mayor Esko Poikela.
The EFT tournament is probably the biggest sporting event ever organised in Rauma.
– Although we have to travel some distance to get here, the facilities are first-class and the distances within the city are short. Thanks are also due to Rauma SalBa, who, with their own arena match, showed what local forces can do when there is enough will and passion,” Poikela continues.
In January, SalBa organised the SalBa-Bears match of the Inssi-Divari at the Kivikylä Areena, and the event was a great success. It was also unique in its size for the league. SalBa and the Bears will meet again at the ice rink during the EFT weekend on Saturday 19 October at 19:00.
The tournament is also a good opportunity to test the Campus facilities as a stage for a sporting event. Saturday 19 October’s U19 Finland-Switzerland match will be the first major public event to be held in the new leisure and education centre. The match on Campus will start at 12 noon and is free of charge.
