Master Molto and Goldielocks to star in the Rauma Day market event on April 16th

Rauma turns 583 years old on Thursday, April 17. Rauma Day will be celebrated with a market square event on Wednesday, April 16, from 2:00 pm to 6:30 pm. The program includes engaging music, stands from local organizations, and the traditional Rauma Day awards ceremony. Free coffee will be served to the first 2,000 visitors.
The event will be opened by the duo Kari and Laura at 2:00 pm, followed by the wind orchestra Pläkkploosarit with soloist Piritta Venho at 3:00 pm.
Master Molto, known from the kids’ show Pikku Kakkonen, will entertain the children at 4:00 pm, and Goldielocks, who placed second in the New Music Competition, will take the atmosphere to new heights at 5:00 pm.

Local organizations and associations will showcase their activities at the organization fair, which will be open throughout the event.
The Meripojat Awards and Ruorimiehet Medals will be presented at 6:00 om.
– The Meripojat Award is given to a person or organization that has made a significant contribution to the well-being of others or the community in Rauma. The Ruorimiehet Medal is awarded as recognition to a person or organization whose valuable actions or work have benefited the City of Rauma, explains museum and culture director Risto Kupari.
Museum Events
In honor of Rauma Day, there will be free admission on Wednesday, April 16, to the Rauma Art Museum and Marela from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm, and to the Maritime Museum from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. On the same day, a free guided tour of the Heart of Pinnala collection exhibition will be held at the art museum at 4:00 pm. The tour is in Finnish.
The time capsule of the Messages to Future Generations exhibition at Marela will be sealed for 30 years on April 17. Visitors still have the opportunity to bring their own messages for future generations to the exhibition until April 16.
– A message for the exhibition can be, for example, a letter, a drawing, or a photograph. Small objects can also be included in the time capsule as mementos of this era, says museum curator Hanna-Leena Salminen.
A Week-Long Celebration of Rauma Day
On Tuesday, April 15, from 2:30 pm to 6:00 pm, young people can take part in the highly popular Treasure Hunt in Old Rauma, which was a hit last year. The adventure starts in front of the Savila tourist information office and involves searching for different checkpoints at various locations in Old Rauma. Participants compete in pairs, and the winning team will receive amazing prizes. The event is organized by Rauma’s youth services.
The Kiikartorni lookout tower will open to the public on Wednesday, April 16, at 9:00 am. It will remain open daily until the end of September. Opening hours are 9:00 am to 9:00 pm in April and May, and 10:00 am to 9:00 pm from June to September. Admission is free.
On Thursday, April 17, a joyful Children’s Event will take place in Kipparinpuisto from 9:00 am to 11:30 am to celebrate Rauma Day. Teacher students will organize interactive activity stations for children, and the traffic park’s bicycles and pedal cars will be available for use.
– The Rauma Day children’s event has attracted dozens of families and daycare groups in previous years, and we hope for another joyful celebration filling the entire park, says cultural producer Outi Lehtorinne.
During Rauma Day week, visitors can admire a Chicken Coop for toy chickens in Keskustelupuisto, located along Kalliokatu. A group of adorable plush toys will be celebrating Easter there, and visitors can also search for images of little chicks with the help of a map from the park. This event is part of the audience engagement activities of the Lönnström Art Museum.
