Expansion of Sammallahdenmäki’s Southern Parking Area

The southern parking area at the Bronze Age burial site of Sammallahdenmäki, located in Lappi, Rauma, is being expanded at the end of Savulaakso Road. Construction began this week, and the project is expected to be completed by December.
The parking area will be unavailable during construction. Visitors to Sammallahdenmäki are encouraged to use the northern parking area located at the end of Sammallahdentie.
The parking area will retain its gravel surface. Plans include 23 car spaces and one bus parking space. The expansion will facilitate smoother turns, especially for buses. The contractor for this project is Maarakennus Jalonen Oy.
