Christmas lights are on in Old Rauma from 23 November to 6 January

The Christmas season in the lace town starts with the Christmas opening on Saturday 23.11., when the atmospheric Christmas lights of Old Rauma will also be switched on at 16.00. The lights will be on 24 hours a day until 6.1. The Kitukränni light artwork will be on display until 18 January.
Fourteen of the trees in Savilanpuisto park will be lit up with warm-toned ribbons of light, and three-metre high illuminated angel wings will be placed in the park area.
The illuminations will also decorate the Christmas Market and the Tammela yard. In addition, the Christmas tree lane leading from the market to the Tammela plot will be covered by a curtain of lights that will cover almost the entire Vähäraastuvankatu. This year, a Christmas courtyard will also be built at Kirsti’s house, complete with atmospheric illuminations.
A new piece of light art by artist Mollu Heino will decorate Kitukränni street. The work, depicting a shooting star, is part of the Lumen light-art event in January.
– The lighting of Christmas lights is an expected and traditional sign of the beginning of the festive season. We hope that the lights will bring plenty of joy to both city dwellers and tourists alike. The Christmas lights and the magnificent surroundings of Old Rauma also provide a delicious atmosphere for photographs,” says Krista Mård, Christmas coordinator..
